The Los Padres National Forest is advertising for two permanent, full-time Supervisory Natural Resource Specialist (Recreation) positions. One of the positions will assigned to the Mount Pinos Ranger District in Frazier Park, CA, and the other position to the Santa Barbara Ranger District near Santa Barbara, CA.
Duties: The incumbent of each position will serve as the District Recreation Program Manager with supervisory responsibilities. Duties include supervision of temporary and permanent employees; development and monitoring of budget; volunteer management; preparation of grant and partnership documents; preparation of appropriate environmental documents in support of recreation operations; participation on interdisciplinary teams; participation in the Forest Recreation Officer Group; knowledge of all aspects of recreation management to include operations, maintenance, development, and restoration strategies and practices; preparation and administration of recreation special use permits; and data entry of program related information into a variety of corporate databases.
